Your donations help the Friends of the Octavia Fellin Public Library raise funds for library programs, materials, and events — and give gently used books a second life in our community. We're grateful for every contribution.
What we accept
We accept materials in gently used, sellable condition:
Paperback and hardcover fiction and nonfiction. (Children's books are especially appreciated.)
Magazines less than six months old (no free magazines, please)
Antique and collectible books
Commercially recorded CDs and DVDs
What we can't use
To keep our sales focused on quality, we're unable to accept items that are damaged, moldy, musty, or water-stained, as well as textbooks, encyclopedias, and magazines older than six months. If you're not sure about an item, just ask.
How much we can take
We're able to accept materials in quantities of one to two boxes at a time. If you have a larger collection — for example, the contents of a move or an estate — please reach out before bringing it by, and we'll do our best to help you find the right home for it. Larger donations are sometimes more than we can process at once, so a quick conversation first saves everyone time.
How to donate
Ready to donate? Fill out the form below to let us know what you'd like to give, and a Friends volunteer will be in touch. Once we've connected, books can be dropped off at either the Main Library or the Children's Library.
Your financial support helps the Friends of the Octavia Fellin Public Library fund the programs, materials, and events that make our library a vital resource for Gallup. From summer reading to new books on the shelves, every dollar you give goes directly back into the library and the community it serves.
Why give
Friends of OFPL is a volunteer-run nonprofit. We have no paid staff, so the funds we raise — through memberships, book sales, and donations like yours — go straight to supporting the library. Whether you give once or year after year, your contribution makes a real, visible difference at OFPL.

Tax-deductible giving
Friends of the Octavia Fellin Public Library is a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 86-1790433). Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and we'll provide a receipt for your records. Please consult your tax advisor with any questions.

If you'd prefer to give in another way, we'd love your help. Become a member for $20 a year, donate gently used books for our annual sale, or volunteer with us at upcoming events. Every form of support matters.
